Sewer Main Leaks into Patuxent River

perma-liner

A broken Sewer main has caused almost 1 million gallons of sewage to flow into the Patuxent River. The City has closed the north end portion of the river’s Rocky Gorge reservoir for a 30 day timeframe. Other areas were affected, as well, including Lake Hallowell and Hawlings River. The City is very mindful of the Clean Water Act and has stated that the water is safe and will go through additional filtration at the plant in Laurel. Workers detected two separate leaks in the sewer main and both have been repaired.
